we are a family Sometimes this little white box is intimidating; there are about a million and one things I'd like to write about but I never know where exactly to start. I think I'd write down every single one of my thoughts if I could, just so I could go back and laugh at myself later. I'm watching Wife Swap again and can't figure out why these crazy families are so interesting. Why do I like this show? It's intriguing, I suppose, to see how other families live, and how extreme the differences can be. And to try to figure out which family mine is most like. We're not really extreme by any stretch of the imagination; in all honesty, we could easily be compared to a slightly dysfunctional sitcom family, just a little quirky but essentially very healthy. We're a bit on the liberal side, in support of freedom, privacy and human rights, but act conservatively in public. We're a little bit perfect, honestly, and I freely admit I'm really lucky to have been born into such a supportive, easy-going family. I definitely took that for granted growing up. Like most adolescents probably, but there were definitely times when I treated my family like total crap. Times when we treated each other pretty badly, really. Sometimes I guess we forget that family is the most permanent, important thing you have if you'll let it be that for you. You can't always depend on your friends, but a good family will always be there. After everything that happened in high school and in the past year, I'm really glad they were there for me the whole way. Wow, before this entry gets any more ridiculously sappy... I'm seriously considering getting my lip pierced as well as maybe getting collarbone piercings. I really like the idea of piercings and after taking E to get her nose pierced last Sunday it's been on my mind a lot more. But I also would really love to get the dragonfly tattoo done first. Body mods are pretty addictive I think, haha. I have so many tattoo ideas that I plan to get done eventually, as well as a few piercings. I don't want to be a walking painting or a holey mammoth, but having a few really personal body mods definitely strikes my fancy. |
