Is it just me or does this new black diaryland layout just scream "emo and angsty"? I don't like it, what happened to the calming lavender shade?
In other news... I had the worst date in the history of ever today. And I mean ever. I could handle a complete jerk, or even someone with terrible music taste, but I cannot handle a complete lack of personality. I can't be the only person out there who thinks it's completely weird when someone keeps telling you they want to see you, that they're excited to hang out with you, but doesn't show any real interest in who you are. The guy spent the entire date pretty much talking about himself [not that there was much to talk about, seriously] and then when the conversation got quiet expected me to come up with something to pick it up. Also, when someone asks you how you are, the typical response is to answer and then ask them how they are, is it not? So why is it, then, that everyone just stops with "Good" nowadays and doesn't bother to query about your emotional state? Am I the only person out there who is legitimately curious about learning the interesting details of someone else's mind?
I'm just really tired of meeting people who don't know how to carry on a conversation to save their lives. Conversing usually consists of both people asking each other questions, answering, and discussing the answers. It doesn't usually involve forcing one person to continue coming up with new questions to ask, you answering, and then not elaborating any further than is absolutely necessary.
